"Disastrous" is the word you're looking for. Trump bloviated while Biden whispered hoarsely. "Disaster" will be the word for the General Election if the Democrats don't move fast.
Kate, I take no pleasure in this. If he stays, I'll vote for him. As you have seen, I'm usually quick to blame the media and the pundits, but this is a problem of his own making, and now it is our problem.
Appreciate your reply, still think the media is to blame-they were never going to let Biden win this “debate”. No matter what they would have parsed his answers or denigrated his delivery, even if flawless, to bring him down and create more of a horserace. This includes “liberal” outlets of which we know there are none anyway. And people willing to throw away over three years of TREMENDOUS leadership and accomplishments on the world stage and here at home disgust me. Meanwhile the felon gets a pass…it is madness.
I had the remarkable experience of watching the debate in a room with hundreds of others, half blue and half red at the Braver angels convention in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
No applause. No real groans. Some laughter from both sides at Trump and some sighs from both sides at Biden.
It was really a remarkable weekend filled with people willing to respectfully, and Sibleys speak with one another about their differences and find ways to collaborate passionately to respectful solutions. I think the only media covered it was Al Jazeera. That kind of tells you a lot. You would’ve loved it, Jon.
It’s just a shame that most of the folks in the media would rather look to the fringes with their mighty megaphones and amplify the noise over the signal.
When I returned home after the convention, out of habit, I turned on my usual news channel as it became clear That there were more cheerleaders than leaders.
At each session, I got to meet the smartest people in the room. Civil, compassionate, clear.
The theme of the convention was “American Hope. “And I think these folks from all over the country really do represent the best of us and the most of us.
For those interested in the politics of sanity, I suggest checking out the website.

Not helpful. Biden is a leader, not a debater. The media and pundits alone have made this mess. Enough already.

Madness? On that, we agree completely. I'm lucky to have you as a reader. J
